Hello, everyone. [He pauses there for a moment and a mouse cheeps in the background. WELP. It’s a start.]

I was wondering if I could speak to the doctors who work at the clinics here or anyone who has had medical practice. I’ve been studying medical treatment myself and I thought it would be a good idea to become acquainted with everyone.

[He knows it’s been a while since he last spoke to Adele about this but it’s better late than never, right? The mouse cheeps again] I know, I know, just a minute… Oh! Also, there was one particular doctor that was recommended I speak with about something… Doctor Law, I believe his name was. So it’s important I talk to him too, if at all possible.

Later in the day, Sion will be out in the village, mainly in the clinic and library. He won’t stay long in the main clinic, but just to take a look at the main schedule Adele once told him about.

After that, he’ll head to the library. If you spot him there, you’ll be able to notice that he has three mice on his person, quite literally. They aren’t real mice, but they definitely appear to be real. There’s a white one, which sits atop his head, a black one which is on his shoulder and a brown one which is on his opposite shoulder. It seems odd but this is totally normal for him. He’s picking out a bedtime story for them, you see. Still totally normal for him. They like it a lot when he reads plays to them okay.]

[She hears his message but doesn't get around to answering in a timely fashion; when she thinks about it again, well...he's standing in the hall looking at the schedule.]

May I help you with something?

[He blinks at the sudden voice and turns towards it]

Oh--no, I'm okay, thank you. I just wanted to take a look at the schedule. I was told that I should so that I can catch any of the doctors while they're on their own shifts if I ever wanted to meet them. [ ... ] Are you one of them?

Yes I am. [She gives him what amounts to a shallow bow, and a smile.] My name is Mia.

[He blinks but quickly gives a slight bow in return. If it's part of her custom he doesn't want to show disrespect] My name is Sion. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mia.

The pleasure is mutual, Sion- oh! Wait, you mentioned earlier in a message that you were interested in meeting everyone here, right?

What are your questions?

[Even if she can't answer them all, some will do.]

I didn't have any questions in particular. I just wanted to get to know the doctors here, so I guess I can still ask about some things if you don't mind me asking personal questions.

I don't mind at all. Would you like to come sit down somewhere, then?

Sure, that'd be nice.

[They have a few private rooms to use; Mia takes him to one of them. It has mostly comfy chairs, of which he may take his pick.]

[And so Sion follows her to one of said private rooms and takes a seat.]

Thank you, Mia. [Once she's taken her own seat:] How long have you studied and worked as a doctor?

Oh, I've been training to be a healer almost since I could walk and talk, I think. Studying with my parents is one of my first memories. [She makes a small hand motion in the general direction of the rest of the clinic.] Before coming to Luceti I had never seen anything like this before, but since then I've learned a lot.

That's amazing. [Sion is v. impressed. To be honest it kinda reminds him of how things are back home. Gifted children learning difficult things at early ages. Not preping to be a doctor but learning hard stuff.] So you had never practiced tradition medicine before coming here?

Ah...what do you mean by traditional?

Traditional as in non-magical treatment. Surgery, stitching, things of the like.

It's the...the technology that I hadn't seen. All of this strange advancement.

Ah--my apologies. That was my misunderstanding. [Smiling sheepishly.] How long have you been here in Luceti now?

About a year and a half. [Oh. Oh that's right, she'll be...sort of twenty soon.]

So I assume by now you've gotten used to the technology? [A white mouse is staring at Mia now from behind his neck. Why are they not at the library Sion you made promises]

I am much better with it now than I was.

[Ohhhh dear.] Ah...is that a friend of yours?

[He goes to respond to the first statement but blinks and glances around until the white mouse makes himself more visible by sitting on his shoulder.]

Him? Yes, he is. His name is Hamlet. [Is it weird to name mice? Sion doesn't seem to think so. He takes the mouse into his hand and holds it up for her to see.]

You named him after a piece of food?

[Pets aren't weird. Mice in a building is weird.]

[...What]

N-No, not food. That would be ham. Hamlet is the name of a tragedy, or play, written by William Shakespeare in 1599. Hamlet had also been the main character in that play. He was a man who had been the Prince of Denmark and wanted to get revenge on a man who killed his father for the throne.

This little guy here loves listening to that play, that's why I named him after it. Cravat though is named after a pastry from my world. [Now two more mice are going to peek out from behind his neck, one brown and one black]

I'm really not sure about having mice in the clinic, though. [Even at home they try to keep the things out of houses.] Please try to keep them with you. ...Ah, what is the last one's name?
